Grand Master Victor "Buddy" Amato holds two 10th Degree Black Belts and has innovated his own system of Karate known as Amato's Goju Ryu.

Grand Master Amato started practicing the Martial Arts at the age of 4. At only 18, while still in high school, he opened his own karate dojo, and has operated out of the Hazlet Township area for over 40 years. The dojo, located on Palmer Avenue, attracts students from all over Monmouth county. Thanks to the high-quality of instruction and variety of classes offered, Amato's Karate & Weapons Academy is one of the largest schools in New Jersey.

Shihan Amato has been inducted into 23 Martial Arts Halls of Fame. He also served as the Chief of Police for the Monmouth County SPCA Animal Cruelty Division. To learn more about Grand Master Amato, click here.
